This job description outlines an opportunity for a Graduate Engineer – Water Resources in Atlanta, GA with Neel-Schaffer. The successful candidate will join the Water Resources team, collaborating on diverse projects in Water Resources, Hydrology/Hydraulics, and MS4. The position is based in our Atlanta, GA office.
Responsibilities
Collaborate on diverse Water Resources projects, including drainage, flood control, bridge hydraulic studies/designs, bridge scour analyses, storm water management studies, and design/contract plans for flood control and storm water infrastructure projects.
Contribute to project planning, problem solving, and client-focused service within a dynamic engineering firm.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related degree(s).
Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
1-3 years of experience with technical work in Water Resources / Hydrology / Hydraulics.
Strong leadership, communication, analytical skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary with the ability to plan and conceptualize.
Experience with HEC-RAS 1D/2D, SMS SRH2D, EPA-SWMM/PCSWMM 1D/2D, HEC-HMS, HydraFlow, HydroCAD, StormCAD, or equivalent programs is preferred.
Experience with Bentley products (ORD, GEOPAK, InROADS, etc), AutoCAD, and/or ArcGIS is preferred.
Ability to perform a limited amount of field work, including drainage investigations, topographic surveying, drainage asset inventorying, etc.
Experience with technical report writing and working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.
