Overview
Coach - Boys Varsity Track - James Lick High School East Side Union High School District is seeking a Varsity Coach with knowledge of the fundamental and advanced techniques for the sport. The coach will instill commitment, discipline, and teamwork, and will follow the CIF/CCS Coaches Code of Conduct and the BVAL Coaches Code of Conduct. The Head Varsity coach oversees all levels within the program/sport and collaborates with parents, students, staff and the community. Responsibilities
Demonstrate knowledge of the rules and techniques for the sport, including fundamental and advanced aspects. Model appropriate personality and character traits for educational leadership. Plan and organize practices and design an appropriate conditioning program for the sport. Follow district guidelines and policies, and manage the program effectively. Engage with parent groups, administrators, staff and students; maintain positive communication with the community. Foster commitment, discipline, and teamwork among students of varying athletic ability and backgrounds. Help students balance demanding academics with athletic commitments. Understand district fiscal and cash handling procedures related to fundraising, purchasing, tournament fees, and other funds for the sport. Maintain and inventory equipment and uniforms to ensure safety and minimize loss. Adhere to the CIF/CCSBVAL Coaches Code of Conduct and BVAL policies and guidelines. Minimum Qualifications
Playing experience in the sport at high school, collegiate, amateur, or professional levels. High school coaching experience at the Junior Varsity level or youth leagues/middle school in the same sport, or equivalent experience. Current State of California coaching certifications. Current certification required by East Side Union High School District, including but not limited to annual mandated reporter training. Must pass District Fingerprint clearance. Must complete Edjoin online application, and submit a Cover Letter and Resume. Selected candidates must pass fingerprint clearance and provide current TB test results, valid CPR certification, valid First Aid certification, ASEP certification, Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Certification, Heat Illness Prevention Certificate, Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment training, Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Prevention, Integrated Pest Management, and Concussion certification prior to employment. Compensation is conditional on the lifting of restrictions and the team’s authorized participation in the sports season. Employment Details
