Overview
Job Title: Quality Manager Industry: Industrial Furnace Manufacturing Location: Allenstown, NH Position Summary
The Quality Manager will oversee and drive the company’s quality assurance and control programs for the design and manufacture of large, highly engineered, custom-built industrial furnaces. This individual will ensure compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards while embedding a culture of quality throughout the organization. The Quality Manager will work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and leadership teams to deliver reliable, safe, and high-performing products for aerospace, defense, and industrial customers. Key Responsibilities
Quality Leadership & Oversight Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). Establish, document, and enforce quality standards, inspection criteria, and test protocols for custom-engineered furnaces. Lead internal and external audits to customer-specific certifications. Process Improvement & Compliance Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering, procurement, and manufacturing processes. Ensure compliance with ASME, ASTM, NADCAP, ITAR, and other relevant industrial standards. Partner with design and engineering teams to conduct Design for Quality reviews during project planning. Serve as the primary internal resource for customer quality concerns, inspections, and certifications. Oversee supplier qualification, incoming material inspections, and corrective action processes. Ensure on-time resolution of non-conformances and customer complaints. Inspection & Testing Manage calibration programs for all measurement and test equipment. Participate in final acceptance (FAT) testing to verify conformance to customer specifications. Train the MRF team to achieve repeatable quality checks and maintain the highest quality standards in the furnace industry. Promote a culture of quality awareness across all departments. Mentor and coach team members on best practices and problem-solving methodologies (Root Cause Analysis, 8D, Six Sigma). Qualifications
Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related technical field. 5+ years of progressive experience in quality management within custom equipment manufacturing - aerospace, defense, or industrial products. Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar QMS certifications. Familiarity with furnace, thermal processing, or heavy custom equipment manufacturing preferred. Strong understanding of welding standards, material testing, and heat treatment processes. Proven ability to lead root cause investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
