Overview Job Title: Network L2 Support Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network L2 Support Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will provide second-level support for network operations, ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of network systems that support core organizational functions.

Responsibilities

Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents and service requests related to LAN/WAN, firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless infrastructure.

Escalate complex issues to L3 support or vendor teams as necessary.

Perform routine maintenance and updates on network devices and services.

Work with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy) to manage and track incidents and changes.

Support network implementations and upgrades in coordination with project and engineering teams.

Maintain documentation for network topology, configurations, and processes.

Monitor network performance and generate periodic reports for analysis and improvement.

Assist in maintaining security standards, including firewall policies and VPN configurations.

Provide support during planned maintenance and unexpected outages, including participation in on-call rotation if applicable.

Liaise with ISPs and third-party vendors for troubleshooting and service management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

2–5 years of hands-on experience in network support or administration.

Solid understanding of networking protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.).

Experience with enterprise networking equipment (Cisco, Juniper, HP, etc.).

Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, and wireless access point configurations.

Working knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).

Basic understanding of ITIL framework and service management processes.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Certifications (Not Mandatory)

CCNA or CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional)

CompTIA Network+
