Information Technology Specialist 2 Programming (NY HELPs) role at NYS Office of Information Technology Services. Develop, test and troubleshoot SQL Server Integration Packages Develop, test and troubleshoot SQL Server Reporting Services Reports Assist in database development tasks in support of unit Reporting, Business Intelligence and Application Development Other tasks to support the unit as needed Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Open Competitive): A bachelor's or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science Or a bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field and one year of experience in information technology Or 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science and one year of professional experience in information technology Or two years of professional experience in information technology Promotion: Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 1, Salary Grade (SG) 14 Transfer: Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 2 or Information Technology Specialist 2 Programming, G-18; OR in a title G-16 or above deemed administrative under Civil Service Law 55b/c Appointment: This position is eligible for 55b/c designation Other important notes

Residency requirement: Appointment to this position and continued employment may be contingent upon obtaining and maintaining New York State residency within six months of hire Agency approvals: Appointment is not final until all agency approvals have been granted Employment policy: ITS will not offer permanent employment to candidates not authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis; F1/H1 visa holders are not sponsored for permanent employment Fingerprinting may be required Travel may be up to 25%; lifting up to 50 lbs may be required Some positions may be pending Civil Service approval Location-based pay: NYC location pays an additional downstate adjustment; Mid-Hudson has an adjustment NY HELPS: temporary/non-competitive appointment during the program; potential conversion to permanent non-competitive and later to competitive status Benefits
