Automotive Controller
A high-volume, well-established, and growing automotive group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Controller
to oversee financial operations at their high-volume Kia dealership. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a respected organization that values accuracy, accountability, and teamwork while supporting strategic growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting and financial functions for the dealership, including month-end close, general ledger, schedules, and financial statement preparation
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with dealership policies and CDK DMS accounting procedures
Reconcile all schedules, bank statements, and manufacturer accounts accurately and timely
Ensure proper documentation and internal controls are maintained to protect company assets
Collaborate with the CFO, Corporate Controller, and General Manager to monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement
Manage and mentor accounting staff, promoting accuracy, efficiency, and teamwork
Prepare and submit required manufacturer financial statements, sales reports, and tax filings
Review and analyze financial results to ensure accuracy and adherence to GAAP and internal standards
Oversee the titling, billing, and payables/receivables processes
Support dealership management with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
Partner with internal and external auditors as needed
Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of automotive accounting or controller experience (dealership experience required)
CDK DMS experience required
Strong understanding of dealership accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting
Proven leadership and team management skills
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with dealership leadership and corporate management
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
