Overview
The Controller will manage all aspects of accounting operations, including oversight of a small finance team, monthly and annual close processes, cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. This position plays a critical role in supporting management with the financial insights needed to drive business decisions and ensure the continued success of the firm.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a 2-person accounting team.
Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements and KPI reporting.
Assist in preparation and analysis of annual budgets, forecasts, and departmental financial performance.
Manage cash flow, payments, and banking relationships to ensure financial stability and efficiency.
Review payroll, accounts payable, and general ledger activities for accuracy and compliance.
Coordinate with external tax advisors on annual filings and compliance.
Maintain our ERP System, and work to improve the functionality of the ERP system companywide.
Develop and improve internal accounting processes to increase accuracy, efficiency, and control.
Provide ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including GL, AR, AP, budgeting, and forecasting.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Strong technical aptitude and understanding of ERP Systems.
Experience with project-based or professional services accounting strongly preferred.
CPA credential preferred.
