Overview
Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a seasoned Controller to join their client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and reporting for the division. This is a supervisory position that requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Base pay range
$115,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Compile, review, and submit financial and statistical reports promptly as requested by division and corporate leadership. Prepare monthly pricing forecasts and conduct pricing analyses as needed. Lead and participate in the division's accounting cycle closures. Meet regularly with department managers to review financials, identify and document budget variances, and ensure accurate revenue and cost recording. Attend required safety and supervisor meetings, as well as other relevant training sessions. Review, prepare, and approve check requests, vouchers, and invoices. Supervise accounting staff, ensuring timely and accurate reporting aligned with company policies and U.S. GAAP; conduct periodic performance evaluations. Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax filings (sales, excise, property), business licenses, permits, and census data submissions. Lead the planning and execution of the annual divisional budget. Coordinate with other divisions to reconcile intercompany transactions. Report directly to the General Manager and follow directives from Corporate Accounting under the CFO. Perform general ledger reconciliations, financial analysis, journal entries, and oversee payroll operations. Manage tasks related to the company's banking systems as needed. Maintain professional and ethical interactions across departments. Adhere to company and departmental procedures. Ensure consistent attendance and punctuality to support smooth business operations. Carry out additional duties as needed to support efficient business performance. Qualifications
Must have a bachelor's degree in business, with a concentration in Accounting or Finance preferred. Possess a minimum of 8 years of work experience in accounting (both public accounting and private enterprise preferred). Must have advanced supervisory experience. Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data. Must be highly skilled in the use of Excel Spreadsheets. Must be skilled in the use of MS Word. Must have excellent verbal and communication skills. Must have an excellent work ethic, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
