Responsibilities:
Verify processing of account documents, posting of accounting entries, updating of records, and preparation of summary reports.
Assist with in-depth analysis of accounting records to prepare monthly reports.
Interpret policy and provide guidance to institutional personnel concerning accounting procedures and internal control requirements.
Review and process special funds accounting requests, verifying availability of funds and monitoring expenditures for compliance with policies.
Serve as liaison between accounting and inmate services branches to coordinate policies and compliance.

A high school diploma and entry-level experience in accounting or bookkeeping. A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for required work experience. SCDC Minimum Requirements:
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources). A bachelor's degree with fifteen (15) semester hours in accounting related courses. An associate's degree with twelve (12) semester hours in accounting related courses and one (1) year of accounting experience. A high school diploma and four (4) years of accounting experience.
