Overview

Healthcare Payer Client Relationship Manager (Associate Director) for a growing payer client in the western United States. This role supports the Client Partner and acts as a business owner for assigned accounts, leading day-to-day activities and P&L, coordinating with delivery teams to optimize backlog, resource mix, and scope changes, and striving to establish a positive client experience. Shared measures include margin, revenue, client satisfaction, and employee retention. Role-specific measures include renewal win rates, revenue, and margin. The qualified candidate

must be able to be on the client site in Pleasanton, California on a regular basis (3 to 5 days per week). Key Responsibilities

Balance business development and sales responsibilities with high-quality delivery; develop strategies to penetrate the account and cross-sell Cognizant’s services. Drive profitable growth by identifying and closing new, renewal, and expansion opportunities. Understand the customer’s business needs and apply service/process knowledge to meet those needs; identify critical initiatives that help the client achieve goals. Grow the client relationship by identifying new business opportunities. Build and maintain relationships across client levels, establish a partner map to position the team, and conduct regular meetings with decision makers and influencers. Collaborate with multiple service lines, innovation teams, and business teams to formulate and execute a business plan for the account relationship. Actively drive execution of the portfolio’s innovation agenda. Participate in deal reviews, develop solutions, respond to proposals, create executive summaries, and ensure timely submission with internal approvals. Identify partnerships and leverage Cognizant alliance partnerships to grow the account. End-to-end account operations management including forecasting, budgeting, and overall P&L. Measure accountability against revenue/profit growth within set timelines. Develop a plan to increase Cognizant’s visibility in the account and industry. Required Experience

15+ years in a client-facing or account leadership role in IT professional services or management consulting. Experience leading diverse teams and collaborating in multi-cultural environments. Strong knowledge of US healthcare, the technology landscape, and trends. Proven track record managing portfolios across sales, programs, and existing annuity business. Relationship-oriented with demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships. Strategic thinking, confidence, and ability to plan and execute. Ability to navigate a large organization, work in a matrix structure, and persuasively communicate through content and presence. Strong executive presence and gravitas. Bachelor’s degree or MBA or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Preferred Experience

Experience in the US Healthcare Payer domain with credibility and insight. Ability to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. Experience leading and closing large managed services deals (multi-million dollars and multi-year). Education

TheBASE SALARY for this position is $150,000 - $170,000 plus an annual target bonus of 30%.
