Overview

Communications Specialist, Social Media – U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI). The Communications Specialist, Social Media will support USCRI’s efforts to expand visibility and enhance its reputation using social media channels and tools. The role focuses on social media strategy, storytelling, and content creation to increase brand awareness, traffic, and engagement. Reports to the Director of Policy and Communications and works closely with the Communications team. This is a fast-paced role requiring the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to emerging issues relevant to USCRI’s mission. Base pay range

$70,000.00/yr - $73,000.00/yr Responsibilities

Manage and execute campaigns across digital channels (X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Bluesky) with brand-consistent tone, style, and messaging. Develop social media strategies aligned with communications goals, define KPIs, monitor analytics, and prepare regular performance reports across platforms; manage the social media content calendar. Contribute to longer-form video content for YouTube and other platforms with a focus on storytelling and audience engagement. Lead content creation (blogs, videos, graphics, updates) and collaborate with Communications, policy teams, and other departments. Provide guidance to staff contributing to social media content and coordinate with external partners or vendors as needed. Develop and manage paid social campaigns, including budget oversight and performance optimization. Conduct market research and analyze trends to identify opportunities and improve campaign performance. Stay up to date with emerging social media trends and technologies. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field – or equivalent professional experience – preferred. 2+ years of experience in social media marketing or related fields, with a track record of increasing audience engagement. Experience using Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or similar tools to manage/schedule posts. Excellent analytical skills and experience with social media analytics tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage a diverse audience. Graphic design skills and ability to follow brand guidelines. Experience editing videos for social media. WordPress experience to create/edit webpages is a plus. Experience working in or with nonprofit organizations and/or passion for USCRI’s mission. Knowledge of, experience with, or willingness to learn about global humanitarian, refugee, and immigration issues preferred. Self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks; able to work independently and collaboratively. Training Requirements
