Location: Colville Tribal Health Authority, Nespelem, WA
Salary: $21.82 to $26.58 per hour DOE
Reports to: Clinic Administrator
Basic Functions: This is a Non-Exempt position. Oversees and performs specialized secretarial and administrative support duties for the Colville Tribal Healthcare Authority, including transcription of specialized or technical notes, composition of original documents, administration of office routines and systems, processing of financial transactions, records management, and reception. Assists with administrative projects and programs that impact and/or involve other organization units and locations.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Training:
This position typically requires a high school diploma
Typically requires post-secondary coursework in secretarial science or related business profession
Typically requires 4 years of work experience
Requires a valid driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ vehicle insurance
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Requires working knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment, including filing systems, receptionist and telephone techniques, and letter and report writing
Requires working knowledge of Tribal enterprise and government, department operations, policies, procedures, and calendars
Requires working knowledge of PC software (word processing, spreadsheet, basic presentation graphics, databases) and data entry onto custom databases
Requires sufficient math skills for financial and statistical record keeping
Requires knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Requires human relations skills to work with diverse teams, convey technical concepts, and provide courteous service to internal and external customers
Ability to independently perform all duties of the position
Ability to accurately take and transcribe notes and/or meeting minutes/recollections
Ability to learn, interpret, explain and apply knowledge of Tribal enterprises, government, and unit services; relieve others of administrative details as needed
Ability to prepare spreadsheets, graphs and charts; enter, import, and export data to/from databases
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to meet schedules and timelines
Ability to communicate with management, staff, and the community with patience and courtesy
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. This position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
Tribal member and Indian preference will apply; preference will also be given to honorably discharged veterans who are minimally qualified.
If required, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. This position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances; if applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
