Public Safety Officer responsible for providing support to Public Safety operations at CW facilities. Duties may include patrols, incident response, inspections, and general office or recordkeeping tasks. De-escalation when needed and, if required, physical intervention in accordance with training. Weapons screening to prevent prohibited property from entering Children's premises. Liaison with MRMC Campus Public Safety/Security departments and local, state and federal law enforcement. Essential Functions

Patrols (by foot and vehicle) assigned areas of facilities and grounds according to established schedule; performs parking enforcement duties, including operating parking equipment, greeting and directing customers. Investigates and writes incident reports on security-related incidents; collects and processes evidence; interviews victims, witnesses, and suspects. Assists Public Safety Dispatchers in the Communication Center; dispatches personnel; answers hospital emergency line and directs personnel; monitors cameras and alarm systems; handles intercom and elevator calls; performs additional parking enforcement duties. Responds to emergency situations, including crowd control, disturbance resolution, verbal/physical intervention, firefighting duties, and handling combative or disruptive individuals; may appear in court, hearings, or chambers as required. Performs weapon screening at designated locations; secures property/evidence and coordinates with MRMC Campus Public Safety/Security and local law enforcement; conducts security inspection tours as needed. Questions or detains suspicious individuals on CW properties; restrains disorderly or dangerous individuals per training standards to prevent harm. Badges and screens visitors, determines guest destination/transport needs, provides wayfinding, escorts staff and visitors, and performs basic hospital information services at a Welcome Center; may perform traffic control. Maintains current knowledge of CW policies and department standards through independent review of communications and attendance at relevant meetings. Education

High School graduate or GED or HSED required Post-high school coursework in criminal justice or related field preferred Experience

1+ years of customer service experience required 1+ years of experience as a uniformed security officer in healthcare security, public safety, corporate security, law enforcement, or military service preferred 1+ years of weapon screening experience preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Acceptable driving record; ability to be insured by CHHS carrier Ability to complete all required introductory and annual competency training Ability to read and write to review and complete incident reports and perform recordkeeping Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to interact with staff and visitors, even under stress Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, Epic, CAD, Incident Reporting, Surveillance Systems, etc.) Analytical skills to inspect, respond to, and manage emergent situations and prepare incident reports Current or able to obtain IAHSS Basic certification within 6 months of hire Current or able to complete Defensive Tactics for Security (DTS) training within 3 months of hire Ability to complete and maintain Physical Capacity Exam requirements Ability to complete and maintain training in physical/verbal intervention and control techniques and use of security equipment Licenses and Certifications

BLS - Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (AHA/ARC/National Safety Council) within 90 days Driver's License - State of Wisconsin required Marcus Crisis Prevention Program (MCPP) Trainer - Marcus Autism Center Crisis Prevention Program within 1 year Required for All Jobs
