Overview
In Room Dining Server role at The Westin / Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa. This position takes orders, manages all aspects of the food production of IRD orders, prepares room service trays in accordance with guests’ orders, ensuring the set-up and delivery of meals and beverages is consistent with brand and departmental standards; serves in a timely, friendly, enthusiastic and professional manner; provides table and tray removal service; completes all side work. Manage all aspects of the food production for banquets, including food preparation according to the description. Adhere to sanitation practices and ensure cleanliness and orderliness of table linen, dishes, silverware, etc. Regular attendance is essential to performance of this position. This description may include other duties as assigned by supervision; schedules may vary to reflect business needs of the hotel. Essential Functions
Answering multiple phone lines at a time. Greeting guests in a manner consistent with brand and service standards. Suggesting up-sell items to complement or enhance the dining experience. Prepare food items for customers using a quality predetermined method in a timely and consistent manner. Practice sanitation and safety daily to ensure total customer satisfaction. Inspect orders to ensure proper table and tray setup and that all standards are met before the order leaves the Room Service station. Communicate and work closely with kitchen staff and the Room Service Cashier Supervisor to ensure guest satisfaction. Pre-sets tables/trays for morning and evening rushes. Pre-stocks work station with necessary items. Set up Room Service trays and tables per order. Stock refrigerators with necessary supplies. Fold napkins. Walk halls to ensure cleanliness. Keep setup area clean and organized. Break down dirty dishes and send to appropriate areas. Utilize appropriate glassware, china, silverware, and linen as task requires. Ensure timely delivery of all orders according to time specifications. Provide tray retrieval service after the order has been consumed. Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor or management personnel. Other

Must speak and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Requires good communication skills. Must possess basic computational ability and be able to use math to figure costs and make change. Ability to read recipes and follow instructions. Ability to interact with the public with tact and courtesy. Ability to work under limited supervision and perform routine, organized tasks. Ability to recognize and correct insufficiencies on stations and train for corrections. Physical Demands
Work environments indoors; extreme temperatures may occur in kitchens and freezers. Standing and walking for extended periods; ability to move quickly as required by job duties. Ability to lift up to 15 lbs regularly; manual dexterity for operating equipment. Qualification Standards
Must be minimum age to serve alcohol. Education
High school or equivalent education required. Experience
Previous Food & Beverage Serving Experience preferred. Previous Hospitality Experience preferred. Licenses or Certificates
Current Food Handler's Card Current TIPS Certification Grooming
