Overview High School Math Teacher position with anticipated openings for the 2025-2026 school year. This role involves planning and delivering instruction, assessing student progress, maintaining records, and participating in district and school activities as required by contract and policy.
Responsibilities
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at times designated.
Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
Guides the learning process toward the achievement of district curriculum goals; establishes and communicates clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
Prepares for classes and shows written evidence of preparation as required by the teachers\' contract.
Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media, aligned with the needs of the students and the resources available.
Implements the district\'s philosophy of education, instructional goals, objectives, and performance expectations.
Assesses student progress regularly; provides progress reports as required and communicates with parents when necessary.
Maintains accurate records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
Diagnoses learning challenges and seeks the assistance of district specialists as needed.
Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Follows district code of conduct and develops classroom rules that are enforced fairly.
Plans and supervises assignments for paraprofessionals and provides written evaluations as required.
Maintains ongoing professional growth in line with district requirements and personal professional goals.
Participates in the contractually approved teacher evaluation process and contributes to mutual agreement on results.
Attends building and district meetings to promote communication and mutual decision making.
Qualifications
Highly qualified with competency in the content area.
Appropriate license in Mathematics for Grades 8-12 from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education; or equivalent licensure as required.
Bachelor\'s Degree with appropriate license; or Master\'s Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years.
