Job Description
Designs, implements, and maintains all functions of the database system, including access, methods and time, device allocations, performance monitoring and tuning, validation checks, organization, security, documentation, and statistical methodology. Analyzes current business practices, processes, and procedures, and identifies future business opportunities for leveraging data storage and retrieval system capabilities. Monitors overall standards and procedures and assists in the integration of various systems through the database system. Consults with users, determines applications development requirements, and provides recommendations on database establishment and utilization. Minimum Required Skills
Bachelor's in computer science or equivalent engineering degree, including certifications (11G/12C OCP). Minimum 7+ years experience with Oracle DB administration (installation, upgrades, migration, and configuring on Linux platform, capacity planning, backup & recovery, including load balancing and clustering) in a production environment. Expertise in administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning (certification an added advantage). Strong monitoring experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager or other relevant tools. Knowledge of various backup, restore, and recovery models. Ability to be flexible and adapt to any situation. Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently. Excellent customer service attitude, communication skills (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to make timely and sound decisions. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to work under pressure and in high-stress situations. Additional Notes
Plan, coordinate, and administer matters related to Oracle databases including definition, structure, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection. Maintain and support Real Application Cluster (RAC) 11g/12c, Active Data Guard, and streams or other methods of replication (Goldengate). Support production databases in a high-quality and dynamic environment and assist developers with database change activities. Responsible for solving SQL performance-related issues and optimizing poorly performing queries and stored procedures (working knowledge of Jobs, DDL, DML, PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers, views, constraints, and cursors required). Implement and maintain database integrity & security, including TDE (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges). Translate logical to physical design, develop comprehensive database architectures, implementation, and upgrade plans, and assist in defining database standards, policies, and procedures. Attend product specification meetings with project team members to determine the scope and limitations of various projects. Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security. Responsible for 24x7 production operations (incident break/fix, change, service requests, management) and on-call pager rotation. Note: The interview process will be two rounds with team managers.
