Monitor cardiac/telemetry units continuously, accurately assessing cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias. Complete evaluation and mounting of at least two rhythm strips per patient per shift, including when rhythms change. Provide written shift reports to nursing staff. Promptly communicate significant rhythm changes, especially life-threatening arrhythmias, to nursing staff. Maintain organized telemetry stations and report equipment issues. Engage in self-development and stay informed through staff meetings. Perform additional duties as assigned. Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of an EKG course or passing a post-test after a hospital-offered course. Prior monitor technician experience is preferred but not required. Strong evaluative skills for equipment and supplies use. Excellent communication skills and ability to manage time and cope with stress. Benefits
