Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing/Procurement Associate with common sense and a strong work ethic. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out procurement processes, maintaining operational plans, and responding to client inquiries under the guidance of the program buyer.
Responsibilities
Execute procurement processes, including requests for proposals (RFPs), negotiation preparations, and cost analysis. Respond to client inquiries regarding order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure customer satisfaction. Engage in activities related to purchasing goods, materials, supplies, and services to secure favorable terms for the organization. Prepare purchase orders, approve payments, and negotiate prices to facilitate a smooth procurement process. Compile price proposals, financial reports, and other data to provide input on reasonable pricing. Prepare RFPs and bid packages to acquire new accounts and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries, resolving issues such as shortages or late deliveries. Contribute professionally by influencing others within the work area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. At least 7 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, and procurement. Must be a US Citizen or US Person (Green Card holder). Experience with complex problem-solving and working autonomously. Ability to influence others through clear communication of facts, policies, and practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with SAP is preferred but not required. Familiarity with purchasing a variety of commodities, including machined/sheet metal parts, vacuum formed parts, hardware, and electrical components. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, search functions, XLookUps, and sorting. Background in program management is beneficial.
Work Environment
This position is 100% onsite, with core hours from 9 AM to 3 PM, requiring flexibility to work 8 hours per day. Occasional meetings with the Philippines team may start at 8 AM or occur in the afternoon at 3 PM, though daily involvement is not necessary. Overtime is only approved by management. This role offers the possibility of transitioning from temporary to permanent, depending on the business needs and performance.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
