PAMF-Palo Alto Medical Foundation MPD Position Overview: Represents Sutter Health on design and construction projects, including new development, facility expansion, renovation, and retrofitting. Coordinates, monitors, and reports on design and construction activities in accordance with the project controls requirements as outlined in the Process & Controls Manual (PCM). Responsible for administering consultant and construction agreements. Facilitates quality control, maintains design and construction schedules, manages construction activities, and acts as owner representative. Manages medium to large teams of external vendors and internal staff on large-scale projects. Demonstrates strong project management skills, works with some autonomy, and is responsible for delivering medium to large projects or significant parts of large projects with moderate to high complexity. Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree. Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Typical Experience:
5 years of relevant recent experience. Healthcare design & construction experience preferred. Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of the Last Planner System and Lean Construction. Ability to build reliable cost estimates and schedules for small to medium projects. Assessment skills for typical risks related to scope, budget, and schedule. Familiarity with healthcare construction codes, regulations, space programming, cost analysis, and approval processes. Understanding of state and local building approval processes, including agencies like HCAI, CDPH, OSFM, TJC, and local jurisdictions. Strong project management skills and software proficiency. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and team coordination abilities. Client relationship management skills to maintain positive relations with leadership. Awareness of team culture importance and ability to set expectations. Leadership skills to develop a culture of accountability.
