Orthopedic Surgeon Opening - Goldendale, WA Seeking a board certified or board eligible Orthopedic Surgeon to provide surgical and non-surgical care across the lifespan. Services are delivered in both an outpatient clinic and the operating room. Located within a rural critical access hospital, this role offers collaboration with perioperative, wellness, therapy, and primary care teams.Benefits - Full-time, 32 hours/week - Day Shift (8-hour shifts) - $340,000 - $450,000 annually - This opportunity includes scheduled surgical blocks and clinic appointments totaling 32 hours per week. No nights, weekends, or on-call responsibilities.Position Details
- Perform surgical procedures including fracture repair, joint replacement, arthroscopy, and soft tissue repair.
- Conduct pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-up.
- Manage acute and chronic orthopedic conditions in the clinic (casting, splinting, injections, imaging, referrals, etc.).
- Collaborate with primary care, emergency medicine, and rehab teams on patient-centered care plans.
- Maintain timely documentation within the electronic health record.
- Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and self-care.
- Provide guidance to advanced practice providers, medical students, and medical assistants.
- Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and CME activities.
- Serve as Medical Director for the Wellness and Therapy (W&T) program, including periodic review of protocols and collaboration with care teams.
- Deliver educational presentations and orthopedic training for VH staff.
- Represent VH in community outreach, including health fairs and injury prevention education. Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Completion of accredited orthopedic surgery residency
- Board certified or board eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
- Washington State medical license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
- Current DEA registration and WA prescriptive authority
- BLS and ALS required; ATLS preferred
- Rural or critical access hospital experience preferred Position Details
