The machinist will be responsible for the setup and operation of miscellaneous computerized numerical control (CNC) and/or manual machines.Duties include but are not limited to:Set-up, operation, and conversational programming of CNC lathes.Machine parts according to engineering and customer standards and specifications.Participate in establishing manufacturing methods, including machine, test, material and tooling requirements, to ensure parts are machined according to engineering tolerances/specifications.Perform various inspection tasks to ensure parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications.Perform tasks associated to turning such as hand deburr and visual inspection to ensure parts are free of burrs or damaged surfaces.Maintain proper identification of parts per planning specifications and ensure that accurate and reliable records are documentation and maintained.Perform routine maintenance of machines and equipment operated.Clean, organize and maintain cellular manufacturing work area in accordance with established standards.Ensure the continuous flow of materials and parts through the cell.Adhere to all safety standards and regulations.Strive to accomplish team goals and enhance the quality of machined parts through the reduction of scrap and improvement of throughput.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED2-5 years of experience with CNC lathesExperience with conversational machine programming is a plusFamiliarity and experience with Siemens CNC controls in a plusExperience machining aerospace materials such as SST and nickel alloys is preferredAbility to read and interpret blueprintsPossess solid fundamentals in GD&TPhysical lifting requirements include; ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches), capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds, a grip strength of at least 50 pounds, and be able to reach above the shoulder (65 inches)U.S. citizenship is required Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.
