nSUMMARY
nThe Shop Heavy Equipment Mechanic repairs Caterpillar and/or related equipment or components, following established procedures and guidelines.
nResponsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities of a Shop Heavy Equipment Mechanic include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- n
- Perform repairs with limited departmental supervision with higher level of responsibility for repair. n
- Possess tooling required by the service department. n
- Maintain good attendance and punctuality. n
- Disassemble and assemble machines/components. Recondition/repair as required. n
- Work overtime as required by workload and customer need. n
- Select proper tooling for any standard job and demonstrate proficiency with Cat diagnostic tools. n
- Perform diagnostics and organize appropriate repair procedures. n
- Successfully complete appropriate training sessions as required. n
- Demonstrate safe and proper application of hand, pneumatic and electric tools. n
- Perform tasks from verbal/written instructions and communicate effectively with supervisor and fellow employees. n
- Follow directions as given; follow company policies and procedures. n
- Build competencies and share skills with other technicians, retain acquired knowledge. n
- Treat customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner. n
- Be responsible and proactive for personal development and training requirements for growth. n
- Stay current with Cat product line. Utilize resources from Cat and Quinn Company. n
- Demonstrate and promote Quinn Company core values of Relationships, Integrity, Teamwork, Respect, Quality and Service. n
- Travel to other stores, customer sites and other dealer and Caterpillar facilities for work or training. n
- Work alternate shifts as required by workload. n
- Work in the field as required by manager or supervisor. n
Qualifications
n- n
- One-year certificate or associate's degree from a community college or technical school n
- Five plus year's heavy equipment experience or equivalent education and experience. n
