Role Overview:
The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in patient care by assisting with examinations and treatments under the guidance of a registered nurse or provider. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with treatments and performing select clinical duties supervised by medical professionals.
- Conducting patient interviews, measuring vital signs, and documenting information in patient charts.
- Preparing treatment rooms and maintaining a clean, organized environment.
- Handling basic clerical tasks, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records.
- Ordering and stocking supplies as needed.
- Documenting provider patient encounters accurately, including diagnoses and follow-up instructions.
- Ensuring a safe and alert work atmosphere.
- Assisting with other assigned duties to promote clinic efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED, or equivalent work experience (10 years).
- Must be a graduate of an accredited medical assisting program or possess equivalent education for certification.
Experience: No prior experience is required, making this position ideal for recent graduates looking to start their careers.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk constantly.
- Frequent communication using hearing and speech.
- Capability to lift or carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs frequently.
- Occasional lifting/moving patients and heavier objects up to 50 lbs.
Certifications Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.
- One of the following certifications: CMA, RMA, CCMA, or similar recognized credential.
