Summary
As a Clinical Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in patient care by supporting our healthcare team in a range of clinical and procedural tasks, all under the guidance of the Practice Manager and our Physicians/Providers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Verify patient information through interviews, accurately recording medical history and confirming the reason for the visit.
  • Input medical history and visit details into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Guide patients to exam rooms and ensure they are comfortable.
  • Gather relevant medical information and enter it into the EHR.
  • Prepare patients for exams by providing necessary materials and ensuring readiness for the Physician's arrival.
  • Assist physicians during medical examinations and procedures.
  • Schedule medical procedures and instruct patients on medication use.
  • Submit prescriptions to pharmacies via phone.
  • Change wound dressings, remove sutures, and perform in-office phlebotomy.
  • Collect, log, and properly package lab specimens for transport.
  • Sterilize medical instruments and keep supplies organized by tracking inventory and placing orders.
  • Conduct phone triage and notify patients of pathology and lab results.
  • Scribe office visits, assisting in maintaining accurate records.
  • Administer IM, SQ, and topical medications as per physician orders.
  • Document nurse visit appointments for procedures like suture removals and UVB treatments.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to established standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a medical office environment.
  • Ability to learn and assist with center tasks effectively.
  • Self-motivated to uphold high standards of patient care and service.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the ModMed EMA EMR system is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations.
  • A collaborative team player.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift objects or equipment up to 35 lbs. occasionally.
  • Moderate physical activity to prepare exam rooms and manage cleaning tasks.
  • A keen ability to observe details at close range.
  • Effective hearing ability for normal conversation levels.
  • Manual dexterity for various tasks.
