SSM Health SLUCare Academic Pavilion is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to support our Orthopaedic Spine Services team. This is more than just a job; it’s a chance to make a positive impact in the lives of patients.

Job Highlights:

Full-Time Medical Assistant positions available with Monday to Friday day shifts at the SLUCare Orthopaedics/Spine Services Clinic located in St. Clare Hospital, Fenton, MO.

Job Summary:

As a Medical Assistant, you will assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the guidance of a healthcare provider. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with treatments as ordered by the healthcare provider, supervised by a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse, and perform select clinical duties.
  • Interview patients, record vital signs, and maintain accurate patient charts. Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
  • Handle basic clerical tasks, including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing documents.
  • Manage supply ordering and inventory, and ensure a clean and organized environment.
  • Demonstrate high alertness and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and patients.

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • For positions in Wisconsin: Completion of an accredited medical assisting program or equivalent education is preferred.

Experience:

  • No prior experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent auditory and verbal communication skills.
  • Lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs regularly, with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Visual acuity for near and far distances, including color differentiation.

Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Work Shift:

Day Shift (United States of America)

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
