Lincoln Electric, a global leader in advanced arc welding solutions and automated systems, is looking for a proactive and dedicated Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our innovative team. Our organization is renowned for enhancing fabrication capabilities worldwide, and we're eager to find someone who can contribute to our mission at our facility in Mentor, Ohio.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate and improve our Mentor Consumables, using your problem-solving skills to achieve project goals while ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the mechanical aspects of projects, including facility preparation, equipment design, and installation.
- Develop engineering solutions that enhance equipment reliability and safety while reducing operational costs and improving ergonomics.
- Design solutions that meet ISO 14001 compliance and EHS initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, and R&D teams to ensure project design accuracy and provide technical support.
- Leverage knowledge of wire manufacturing and/or wire drawing to inform projects.
- Interact with contractors, consultants, and suppliers to prototype and implement process improvements.
- Apply Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing concepts to optimize processes; experience in these areas is beneficial.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering. Other relevant engineering degrees with experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience for Level II; 5 years for Level III.
- Hands-on experience in production troubleshooting, installations, and testing.
- Proficient in creating and modifying mechanical drawings with SolidEdge CAD software; training can be provided.
- Innovate mechanical improvements and tooling designs based on operational feedback.
- Analyze product warranty reports to identify trends and solutions.
- Recommend equipment specifications and facilitate machinery and tooling integrations.
- Monitor production parameters to minimize scrap and ensure product quality.
- Document operational procedures effectively.
- Actively participate as a team member or leader in strategic projects.
- Work autonomously on routine tasks with minimal supervision.
