Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant Position

Summary: Upper Great Lakes Family Health (UGLFH) is actively looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant to join our team and provide exceptional direct and indirect patient care. As part of this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in our Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Employee Upskilling Program, with CCMA certification costs covered by UGLFH!
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain vital signs, such as weight, temperature, blood pressure, glucose levels, and gather patient data, including their chief complaint.
- Perform testing and accurately record subsequent results.
- Review patients' medical history and document any changes in their electronic health record.
- If certified, perform blood draws, collect lab specimens, administer injections, conduct EKGs, and other related tasks as directed.
- Ensure all patient data is accurately captured in electronic health records.
- Provide basic instructions and education to patients within your scope of practice at the direction of the provider.
- Support patient flow within the clinic environment.

Job Qualifications:
- Must provide evidence of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or secure certification within the first 90 days of employment.
- One year of related experience preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
