This position is an Exempt & full-time position located in Texas. The pay range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000. We offer an array of benefits, to see those benefits click here.
Any pay range disclosed is based upon a combination of neutral factors such as required qualifications, experience, education, skill, training, certifications, seniority, etc. Follett Content Solutions reserves the right to provide any successful candidate a salary at the most appropriate level set as a result of such candidate' qualifications, experience, education, skill, training, certifications or seniority.
Job Summary
The Sales Director provides day-to-day leadership and strategic direction to a team of 8-10 field sales consultants within an assigned regional territory. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, increasing market penetration, and positioning Follett Content Solutions' products and services effectively across the geographic and customer base.
The Sales Director will lead the execution of sales strategies, coach and mentor sales consultants through regular onsite and virtual engagement, and ensure consistent performance aligned with company goals. This includes conducting field visits, shadowing sales calls, and providing actionable feedback to enhance individual and team effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and report weekly on field sales representatives' performance against established KPIs.
  • Manage customer relationships to align with and support the company's strategic business objectives.
  • Provide executive leadership with regular updates on market trends, competitive dynamics, opportunities, and risks.
  • Drive regional sales growth by exceeding targets and supporting individual territory performance.
  • Maintain and expand key customer relationships through strategic planning and execution.
  • Mentor and develop sales consultants through regular field visits and ride-alongs, focusing on enhancing sales techniques and effectiveness.
  • Ensure daily maintenance of all sales activities in Salesforce CRM.
  • Support sales representatives on strategic deals, including customer negotiations, contract management, key presentations, and industry events.
  • Track and report on content sales performance, pipeline health, and market penetration to executive leadership
  • Provide strategic and operational support to the National Director of Sales and SVP of Sales as needed.
  • Lead all aspects of personnel management, including recruiting, hiring, coaching, mentoring, performance evaluations, recognition, corrective actions, and terminations.
  • Oversee field-level execution of marketing initiatives, sales campaigns, promotions, partnership integrations, customer programs, pilot initiatives, and product rollouts.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with complex sales deals and operating within a district sales model.
  • Extensive CRM usage.
  • 5-7 years' successful sales experience within a diverse sales environment.
  • Proven ability to manage a field sales organization or equivalent outside sales experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to track record of disciplined account planning, advanced solutions based selling skills.
  • Consistent proven history of quota over achievement through disciplined sales execution and accountability required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and HubSpot
  • Prior Experience coaching and mentoring team of Sales consultants.
  • Experience in an education or educational technology company.
