Job Title: Dietary CookReports to: Dietary Supervisor / AdministratorJob Description:Responsible for assisting and preparing food for the residents and assisting any residents that need help with their meals. The cook works in conjunction with the dietary manager to prepare meals. The cook will also assists in clean up, kitchen maintenance, and setting up and taking down the dining areas. Other job duties include delivering food to residents' rooms, preparing and serving snacks and taking inventory of food and kitchen supplies.Job Responsibilities:Prepares all food according to the menu in a safe, sanitary manner under the direction of the dining services coordinator/managerMaintaining kitchen sanitation and safety standards under the direction of the Dining Services CoordinatorPrepares and cooks meals for residents within an assisted living and Memory Care community as well as maintain standards of kitchen cleanlinessFollows departmental procedures including sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedulesReport any concerns with the health and well-being to the Resident Care Coordinator or NurseMaintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information at all times.Meet or exceed, the standards of appearance; comply with the sanitation rules, hygiene and health standards of community personnelServe meals in a fine and gracious manner, ensuring the dignity and nutritional needs of the residentsAssist with putting away and organizing the weekly ordersKeep the kitchen organized and orderlyInsure that the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area meets or exceeds the dietary manager's specifications and is in compliance with state regulationsCooks meal according to the dietician approved menusPerform other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisorJob Qualifications:Must possess a current Food Handler's PermitHave the ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, supervisors, and associatesMust provide written proof of recent TB test or obtain within two weeks of date of hireMust be positive and deliver a WOW experience through servicePerforms unpleasant tasks with grace; works cooperatively with supervisors and displays willingness to assist co-workersWillingness to work with the elderlyUniversal Precautions:Exposure to blood/bodily fluids is likelyPhysical Requirements:Has ability to do occasional heavy lifting (up to 40 lbs.)Pursuant to the State of Utah rules and regulations governing assisted living communities we are not allowed to hire any person who has been convicted of a fellony or who is awaiting trial for a felony, a misdemeanor charge, or had a substantiated finding of abuse that would preclude them from working in our community.
