A Brief OverviewAssists the anatomic pathology lab by performing pre-analytic, post-analytic, and support functions.What You Will DoAccessions specimens for cytology and/or surgical pathology.Performs specimen processing for further workup in the anatomic pathology laboratory.Triages specimens within the department.Maintains equipment, re-stocks supplies and reagents.Able to resolve problem cases independently.Performs miscellaneous tasks within the department.Additional ResponsibilitiesPerforms other duties as assigned.Complies with all policies and standards.For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.Qualifications:EducationHigh School Equivalent / GED (Required) and Associate's Degree (Preferred) Work Experience1+ years of experience in a similar position and can achieve productivity and demonstrate proficiency of all skills in that level.
