Sourcerock is seeking to hire an Operations and Accounting Associate based out of its headquarters in Denver, CO. The role will be a new addition to the growing firm and join the business team assisting in a wide range of responsibilities across operations, accounting, and compliance.

Job Description:

  1. Assist in daily cash and position reconciliations with the street and fund administrators.
  2. Collaborate with Sourcerocks trade counterparties and prime brokers on trade settlements.
  3. Maintain shadow books and records for the Funds via the firms portfolio management interface.
  4. Reconcile month-end NAV reporting from third-party administrators and assist with month-end close for the management company.
  5. Support the Director of Finance in treasury functions including cash management, budgeting, and soft dollar management.
  6. Update and maintain investor relations and marketing collateral.
  7. Monitor risk management reporting and portfolio research database.
  8. Assist in preparing year-end financial statements and tax returns for the Funds.
  9. Coordinate with traders on trade allocations and counterparty communication as needed.
  10. Work with the Director of Finance and CCO on regulatory filings.
  11. Contribute to institutionalizing the non-investment aspects of the business as a key team member.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  2. 1-4 years of experience in fund operations, fund accounting, or investment management operations.
  3. Experience with commodity operations is a plus.
  4. Strong Excel skills; programming skills are a plus.
  5. Interest in financial markets, instruments, and portfolio management strategies.

Annual Compensation Range: $75,000-$95,000, depending on experience.
