Job SummaryThe Behavior Intervention Specialist will work to help coordinate services within a Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports (PBIS) framework and Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) for the Kern County Consortium Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA). This position will consult and collaborate with Office, school district personnel, and outside agencies to help promote a school environment responsive to the needs of children with disabilities and provide in-service training on positive behavioral interventions, evidence-based interventions, and other best practices.Requirements / QualificationsOther (Proof of Education )Comments and Other InformationIMPORTANT COMMENTS •All candidates will be notified by email throughout the hiring process. •Each candidate's application papers will be thoroughly evaluated and ranked by a screening committee appointed by the Kern County Superintendent of Schools. Candidates achieving a rating of 70% or better will qualify to continue in the eligibility screening process. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's license which must be maintained for the duration of the assignment. Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act. This position has a probationary period of six months or 130 days, whichever is longer.
