Event Host Position

The Office of Events is a growing department whose primary function is to assure the events hosted by Utah State University, "Exceed Expectations". The Event Host Position will assist the Event Coordinators to ensure overall success of events managed by this position on the campus of Utah State University. Hours will vary depending on the number of events at venues. The hours will be mostly nights and weekends.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist Coordinators in all aspects of a successful event including, but not limited to: set-up/strike, A/V, equipment needs, event space, food and beverage services, parking, activities, tours, etc.
  • Serve as the day of liaison between client and Event Services to ensure a successful and safe event
  • Work with campus partners to elevate the client and their guests event experience
  • Record and report any event changes pre and post event
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

  • US Work Authorization is required
  • Prefer three months experience with customer service
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Excellent customer service and people skills
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and handle difficult situations with the public and guests in a calm and professional manner
  • Employees must adhere to the dress code standards and code of conduct provided by the department
  • Hours will vary depending on season and number of events at venues. Hours mostly include nights and weekends
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Advertised Salary: Wage dependent on experience

ADA: The position requires some physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including heavy lifting and/or pushing and pulling of heavy objects (20+ pounds). Employees must be prepared to assume uncomfortable positions such as crawling, kneeling, and squatting. Employees must also be prepared to stand and walk for some of their shift
