In the U.S., the client has operated for over 100 years and supports a property & casualty reinsurance portfolio exceeding $1 billion, with growing specialization in areas like excess & surplus, programs, and specialty casualty.
Location is flexible, with options in Hartford, CT; New York City; or Princeton, NJ.
Role
The Head of Corporate Tax Operations leads all operational tax activities for the U.S. group entities of the client. Reporting directly to the Controller, the role encompasses ownership of tax compliance, financial reporting for income taxes under IFRS, GAAP, SII, and statutory frameworks, and the implementation of enhanced tax technologies. This position operates within a high-accountability, low-ego culture emphasizing innovation, transparency, and global collaboration. It requires cross-functional leadership, influencing finance, executive, and regulatory teams while driving digital transformation in tax operations. The pace is fast, with an expectation for both strategic leadership and hands-on execution.
This role offers a compelling opportunity to impact strategic planning and compliance across complex jurisdictions. The individual will collaborate closely with the Head of Tax Advisory on global tax strategies, Pillar II readiness, and M&A due diligence. The position allows for direct exposure to multinational tax frameworks and operational enhancements. It is ideal for a leader who values trust, integrity, and forward-thinking transformation, and who can communicate effectively across executive, legal, and financial functions.
Compensation is open but generally gravitating to the $390,000 - $455,000 range all in (Base, STI, Retirement Savings) or higher for the right candidate.
