Project Manager (With Heavy Civil Experience)

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with Heavy Civil Construction experience to join our team and work within the established culture and guidelines of the company. Qualified candidates will have strong communication and IT skills, leadership potential, and at least 7 years of prior experience managing challenging projects.
Position Title: Project Manager (Heavy Civil Construction)
Reports To: Operations Manager
Status: Exempt
Location: San Francisco Bay Area
Required Experience: 7+ years
Salary Range: $150,000 to $180,000+
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Participate in pre-construction activities as needed
- Act as liaison with the client, architect, consultants, and the Department of Building Inspection
- Interface with site supervisors; look for and implement innovative construction methods
- Prepare and maintain project schedules
- Prepare project documents client change orders, subcontracts, subcontractor change orders, meeting minutes, letters, memorandums, notices, etc.
- Coordinate with onsite contractors in planning and coordinating the stages of connecting new systems with existing utility systems
- Control and monitor subcontractors and their performance
- Manage cost changes, track legitimate change order requests, compile fair pricing for work, and forecast financial results accurately
- Review and expedite submittals and materials; monitor critical material items and deliveries
- Maintain quality control and production efficiency
- Maintain immediate and direct responsibility for production phases of the project; resolve production problems
- Oversee that job site safety procedures are being followed
- Provide feedback on production costs to the Estimating Department
- Develop and lead the market research execution plan for product design alternatives that fit project budget and design intent
- Create the design/procurement execution plans that fulfill contractual project scope obligations and provide potential cost-saving design and energy-efficient solutions based on current market trends
- Establish project protocols and develop plans to organize and communicate product literature, O&M manuals, RFIs, and submittals related to design clarification and product substitution to all stakeholders
- Create BIM execution plans aligned with design documents, subcontractor design-build trades, and constructability constraints

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred
- Minimum 7 years managing heavy civil infrastructure projects
- Advanced degree or training preferred
- Minimum of seven (7) years construction-related experience required
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge and experience with the following software and programs is required:
- MS Project or Primavera 6 for project scheduling
- Sage Timberline Estimating and Project Management and/or Procore for construction management
- On-Screen Takeoff for construction estimating and takeoff solutions
- Precision estimating software for detailed line item estimates
- Microsoft 365 suite (Outlook, Teams)
- Bluebeam for PDF markup and collaboration
- Docusign for electronic signatures
Preferred software experience includes AutoCAD, BIM clash detection, and V-Planner for production planning supporting the Last Planner System.
