About The Role

Were looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to help build the foundation that powers VSCOs products and internal developer experience. Youll join a small but impactful team responsible for reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. From shaping our AWS environment to building tooling that makes engineers more effective, your work will have a direct impact on VSCOs ability to move fast while staying stable.

You thrive on solving tough infrastructure problems, designing elegant automation, and improving systems that scale. Youre also someone who enjoys collaborating across teams and bringing a sense of ownership to everything you do.

The day-to-day

  • Be responsible for infrastructure stability and uptime
  • Develop and improve internal tools for automation
  • Build next-generation operations on AWS with tools like Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design, implement and improve our infrastructure and tools
  • Participate in our on-call rotation responding to production issues
  • Work closely with other teams to design and maintain backend services and systems.
  • Partner with Product Management, Design, and Engineering teams to support product initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, backend, or site reliability engineering
  • Skilled in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Go, Python, Java, etc.)
  • Experience with monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices
  • Understanding of system design principles and experience applying them at scale
  • Demonstrated commitment to growth, both personal and organizationalactively seeking to extend your knowledge and share it with others
  • Experience with Linux operating systems (specifically Amazon Linux)

Nice to haves

  • Experience with the Hashicorp tool suite (Vagrant, Terraform, Packer, Consul)
  • Experience with MongoDB, MySQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB, etc.
  • Comfortable/Experienced with programming languages like Go, PHP, NodeJS, Java, Ruby, Python
  • Experience with Configuration Management (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt)
  • Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins and/or other automation tools
  • Have used Cursor or similar AI tools
  • Experience monitoring and debugging high volume distributed systems
  • A passion for photography, visual storytelling, or creative communities
  • BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience

Compensation

The base salary for this position will vary based on several factors, such as relevant experience, location and your approved internal leveling assessed during the interview process. The base salary range for this role is $172,000 - $185,000.

Salary is one component of our total compensation package. This position also qualifies for equity (i.e. stock options) and is eligible for discretionary bonuses based on performance. The benefits available for this position include flexible time off, a 401K retirement plan, insurance (medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D, short and long term disability), and 11 paid holidays. We also provide paid sick time as required by state and local law. Additional benefits and perks contained in our standard employee benefits package are also offered for this position.
