Job Overview:
An international law firm is seeking a full-time, USPTO-registered Patent Agent to join its Electronics & Software team. This role focuses on preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the software domain, supporting high-value clients across a range of industries. The position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals to work closely with attorneys and clients in the development of strategic intellectual property portfolios.
Location:
Duties:
Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications involving software-related innovations
Work with attorneys and clients to develop and execute patent strategies
Conduct patentability, prior art, and freedom-to-operate analyses
Review technical disclosures and participate in inventor interviews
Assist with client counseling and portfolio management
Provide technical and legal documentation upon request (e.g., transcripts, writing samples)
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent prosecution
Demonstrated expertise in software, computing, or related technical areas
Detail-oriented with strong time management and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with legal and technical professionals
Education:
Bachelors degree or higher in one of the following (or related) disciplines:
Computer Science
Electrical Engineering
Mathematics
Physics
Certifications:
Must be registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO Reg. No. required)
