On the Membership Experience Engineering team at Walmart, we provide technology to power shopping journeys that help hundreds of millions of customers live better. We aim to create the best shopping experience anywhere, anytime, meeting customers evolving needs and expectations.
Walmart+ is pioneering the way people experience online and in-store shopping. We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to help design and improve the customer membership experience and build scalable platforms on mobile devices. This is a critical role to shape the face of Walmart+ as we are just getting started.
What You'll Do:
- Troubleshoot business and production issues for mobile devices, analyze issues, and collaborate with support teams for resolution. Perform root cause analysis to prevent future issues.
- Develop innovative mobile technology solutions in collaboration with cross-functional partners, assess opportunities, benchmark industry practices, and drive initiatives. Define software development standards and influence decision-makers.
- Translate project requirements into mobile solutions across multiple OS (iOS, Android), develop code, create UI solutions, test, and ensure on-time delivery. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders throughout the process.
- Remove barriers impacting performance, provide resources, measure progress, and support continuous learning.
- Promote company policies, ensure compliance, and support an ethical work environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in full stack software development, with hands-on coding experience.
- Experience with consumer-facing apps and ecommerce or retail shopping.
- Experience building scalable backend systems.
- Knowledge of Android application development, including publishing apps, SDKs, services, and background processing.
- Experience working with remote data via REST, JSON, and Google Cloud Messaging.
- Familiarity with Android APIs like Maps, Location, and Cloud Messaging.
- Proficiency in Kotlin, Coroutines, MVVM, and related architectures.
