Overview

Place of Performance: Reynolds Army Health Clinic and/or any of the outlying RAHC clinics on Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Hours of Performance: Services are to be provided five days a week, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays. Normal duty hours are 0800 1700, including a one-hour unpaid lunch break. The schedule will be established by the Diagnostic Service (or department) chief and may be adjusted by mutual agreement.

Position Type: Independent Contractor (1099)

Responsibilities

The contractor will perform a full range of radiology services, including but not limited to:

  • Routine Diagnostic Examinations: Interpret and/or perform examinations such as Head and Neck, Chest, Mammography, Abdomen, Spine and Pelvis, Extremities, Fluoroscopy, CT, MRI (including Breast MRI), Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine.
  • Submit diagnostic reports following established procedures.
  • Adhere to CDC guidelines on universal precautions and infection control.
  • Provide professional opinions, technical studies, and reviews upon request.
  • Facilitate patient access to care through referrals, as appropriate.
  • Participate in professional meetings and activities as scheduled.
  • Review and interpret special procedures and nuclear medicine studies from local and regional centers within 24 hours.
  • Interpret routine studies and submit reports within 24 hours; STAT studies within 2 hours.
  • Perform fluoroscopic exams and special procedures on the daily schedule, requiring same-day interpretation.
  • Maintain records and reports as required by law, regulation, and facility policies.
  • Participate in hospital Quality Assurance programs.
  • Engage in patient care reports, conferences, and professional activities relevant to assigned cases.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including a wide range of invasive and non-invasive examinations, as detailed in the original description.

Each FTE is expected to interpret a minimum of 700 RVUs per month (approximately 1200 studies). The radiologist must be authorized in nuclear medicine and capable of performing procedures such as biopsies, injections, wire localizations, drain placements, FNA, Hysterosalpingograms, and lymphoscintigraphy. All personnel must maintain active email accounts for timely communication.

Qualifications

Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution.

Education: Graduation from a US, Canadian, or approved foreign medical school with ECFMG certification, or from an osteopathic college approved by AOA. Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Diagnostic Radiology is required.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS).

Experience: At least four years of recent patient care experience, including one year in a hospital setting. Proven skill in diagnostic radiology across all modalities, including plain films, fluoroscopy, neuroradiology, ultrasonography, MRI, and CT. Must meet and maintain MQSA Mammography certification.

Board Certification: Not mandatory at start but expected to be obtained within a reasonable timeframe.

Licensure: Valid, unrestricted license in a US state or territory, maintained throughout the contract duration. Additional licenses must be in good standing.
