Department Overview
The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the universitys missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service. The duties include participating in education, research, patient care, and administrative programs, with an emphasis on Tumor and Sarcoma and general orthopaedics. The position involves active participation in all aspects of clinical care as outlined by the Department Chair.
Function/Duties of Position
Clinical:
The Section Head of Orthopaedic Oncology will assign the clinical schedule. The surgeon will primarily work as an Orthopaedic Tumor/Sarcoma specialist, with some general orthopaedics care, and will be expected to take call as assigned, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Education:
As a teaching hospital, the role involves educating medical students and residents, including delivering lectures as assigned by the Director of Education.
Research:
Resources are available for start-up and ongoing research support, aligned with departmental needs.
Administration:
Additional duties may be assigned based on department needs and the candidates expertise and interests, including participation in departmental management and institutional committees.
Required Qualifications
- M.D. or equivalent; completion of an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency; Orthopaedic Oncology/Musculoskeletal Fellowship.
