Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. Sun River Health is currently seeking a full-time Site Medical Director to join our team supporting the Yonkers - Park Care site.
Diagnosis and treatment of patients in his/her specialty area; collaboration and supervision of nurse practitioners and physicians assistants; participation in planning and developing health care services in his/her specialties; treatment of conditions and illnesses within the scope of the physicians specialty; referral and follow-up of patients when indicated; participation in after hours coverage to ensure 24-hour availability of care for Center patients. Performs job duties in compliance with systems and job-specific standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for a Site Medical Director:
- Takes histories, performs physical examinations, and prescribes treatment and medication for conditions falling in the scope of his/her specialty following evidence-based standards of care.
- Provides off hours and hospital coverage for Health Center patients where contractually obligated to do so.
- Designs and participates in quality improvement activities, including Medical Record Peer Review, performance and procedure audits, outcome audits, and focused reviews.
- Provides supervision for clinical activities of Medical providers and medical documentation in his/her department, including but not limited to review of protocols, telephone triage, and follow-up procedures.
- Coordinates tests, referrals, and care of SRH patients outside the Health Center.
- Sets standards for preventive care and diagnostic screening within his/her specialty; participates in the development of programs to carry out these standards.
- Maintains legible and appropriate documentation of medical records.
- Participates and attends provider meetings.
- Provides safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity, quality, and patient satisfaction standards.
Minimum Education Requirement: Doctorate Degree (including MD, DO, DD, PhD, etc.)
Minimum Licensure: Board Certification, Physician License, and CPR/BLS
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures that nurse practitioners are trained to do and are necessary for practicing in health care centers.
- Competence in delivery of health care to patients (including preventative health education).
- Ability to collaborate with other members of the Health Center in order to maintain high quality standards and achieve client satisfaction.
- Bilingual in both English and Spanish (orally and written) is preferred.
Annualized Salary Range: $237,182.40 - $256,734.40
