Position Overview
McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), Staff Physician/Community Cardiologist position in the Children's Heart Institute, Division of Pediatric Cardiology.
The Pediatric Cardiology Team is internationally recognized for providing the best standard of pediatric cardiac care for children and adults with congenital heart defects. The team includes 22 cardiologists with specialties in non-invasive imaging (fetal and cardiac MR/CT), interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, heart failure/transplant, preventive cardiology, and community cardiology. The facility features a 20-bed dedicated cardiac ICU, 20 intermediate care beds, and a 120-bed NICU. Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital is ranked in the top 30 pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery programs in the 2022-2023 US News & World Report.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in pediatric cardiology.
- Support educational missions by teaching and supervising medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Contribute to research, clinical service, and administrative activities within the division.
Qualifications
- Texas Medical License or eligibility for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.
- Board-certified or eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology.
- At least five years of experience performing and interpreting echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiograms.
