HOMELESS CHILDRENS NETWORK MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Homeless Childrens Network (HCN) is to decrease the trauma of
homelessness and domestic violence for children, youth, and families; to empower
families, and to increase the effectiveness of collaborative efforts among service
providers to end homelessness and poverty.
Homeless Children's Network is a community-based organization providing mental
health and family support services to children and families who are homeless and
formerly homeless. HCN works to decrease the impact of trauma and to empower
families. Our comprehensive clinical services enable us to work closely with each family
to understand their needs and to connect them to resources here or through other
providers. We form a trusted relationship and follow our clients over time, providing
security and stability that allows them to become more stable and confident, raise
healthy and emotionally independent children, and develop skills and training that will
help lift them out of the cycle of homelessness.
Position Summary
The Clinical Director provides leadership and oversight for clinical supervision, training,
and professional development across the organization. This role supports and mentors
clinical supervisors and staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and ethical
standards while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. A key
responsibility is leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive
training programs that align with clinical needs, regulatory standards, and the
organization's mission. The Clinical Director develops curricula, delivers educational
content, identifies professional development opportunities, manages training resources,
and partners with academic institutions to enhance the traineeship program.
Additionally, the role contributes to strategic planning, program development, and
quality improvement efforts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry
standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to clinical supervisors, fostering a

- Create and maintain relationships with academic institutions to ensure necessary

- Contribute to the organizations strategic planning process, identifying program
- Align program goals and objectives with the broader organizational strategy.
- Monitor trends and best practices to inform program innovation and development.
- Participate in research or quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical
Professional Development
- Engage in continuing education, professional training, and supervision to stay
- Participate in workshops, seminars, and conferences related to substance use and
Required Qualifications
- A Master's degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related
- Must be licensed in the State of California with either Board of Behavioral Sciences
- Approved to be a clinical supervisor by the appropriate Board requirements and
- Minimum 5 years of experience providing direct services to children, youth, and
- Experience working and engaging with youth and their families, youth in child
youth with co-occurring disorders, and/or gang-affiliated, etc.
- Knowledgeable about adolescent development; and experience in clinical
development.
- Knowledge of youth services in San Francisco from which clients can benefit.
- Knowledgeable and experience with Medi-Cal or Drug Medi-Cal services.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and

- Ability to diagnose mental health disorders and develop treatment plans.
- High level of empathy and compassion, with a non-judgmental approach to
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Crisis intervention and problem-solving skills.

- Must exhibit leadership ability, have excellent written and verbal communication
