The Multi-Modality Technologist FR performs routine and complex high-quality imaging exams in assigned modalities.
The Multi-Modality Technologist FR provides safe, patient-centered care with attention to the physical and emotional needs of patients of all age groups.
The Multi-Modality Technologist FR must be willing and able to learn new skills and is required to maintain annual competencies in assigned modalities.
Job Description
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) or
- Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) or
- Certification by the ARRT as a Sonographer ARRT(S), RDMS, or CCI certification in Medical Sonography, RDCS certification in Cardiac Sonography, or RVT certification as Vascular Technologist AND
- At least one of the following specialty certifications: MRI, CT, PET, ARDMS, CCI, RDCS, or RVT
- VI or CI or CCI
- Mammography
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
- Certification by ARRT, NMTCB, or CCI certification in Medical Sonography, Cardiac Sonography, or Vascular Technologist, with at least one additional certification such as MRI, CT, PET, Sonography
- ARDMS, CCI, RDCS, RVT, or ARRT-specialty certification
- VI or CI
- Mammography
- Nuclear Medicine
Experience REQUIRED:
- One (1) year of previous Technologist work experience.
Experience PREFERRED:
- Three (3) to Five (5) years of previous Technologist work experience in each assigned modality.
- Previous experience in an academic medical center environment.
Education/training REQUIRED:
- Graduation from a JRC Accredited Program in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or a CAAHEP or CMA Accredited Program in Medical/Cardiac/Vascular Sonography, or graduation from a 2-year JRC accredited program recognized by ARRT.
- OR graduation from a Bachelor's degree program in Sonography or Vascular Sonography.
Education/training PREFERRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Radiations Science, Radiologic Technology, Sonography, or Vascular Sonography.
Independent actions required:
- Perform or assist in radiologic imaging exams independently based on physician orders, department protocols, and safety standards.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, policies, and guidelines.
- Resolve basic service delivery issues.
Supervisory responsibilities: N/A
Additional position requirements:
- Review and adhere to modality-specific job descriptions and scopes of practice.
- Work schedule and shifts established with supervisor; may include after-hours and weekend coverage.
- Considered an 'Essential Employee' and may be required to report to work as per policy.
Physical and other requirements:
- Physical: Lifting 20-50 lbs., prolonged standing, sitting, walking, reaching, repetitive motion.
- Activities include computer interaction, reasoning, problem-solving, hearing, speaking, reading, vision.
- Emotional: Ability to handle a fast-paced environment, multiple priorities, customer interactions, and adapt to change.
