Job Summary

Client Professional Services is seeking Technical Instructor a motivated and experienced to facilitate competency-based learning and assessment for a diverse range of learners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating and maintaining heavy equipment, along with prior instructor or facilitator experience. This role requires the ability to work independently and stay current with evolving technology and training methods.

Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction for assigned courses using various teaching methods across classroom, outdoor, and online settings as required by the program. Understand and ensure compliance with rules, regulations, and safety standards related to the operation of equipment taught. Operate and maintain proficiency with common workshop and industrial equipment, including commercial tractors with trailers, overhead hoisting equipment, flex track tractors/dozers, skid steers, forklifts, and hand/power tools. Maintain professional knowledge, certifications, and instructional skills relevant to occupational safety and training technology. Interpret and communicate operator safety manuals, warning decals, and placards to students. Promote and uphold a strong safety culture by consistently applying safety standards. Establish and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including co-workers, employers, and professional organizations. Accurately document and report participant learning and assessment results in the company’s learning management system. Utilize intermediate computer skills, including internet, Microsoft Office suite, and email communication. Deliver clear and effective presentations and communications to groups and individuals.

Required Qualification s Associate’s degree in a related field OR equivalent degree based on verified occupational experience combined with relevant education and training. Minimum of 2 years (4,000 hours) of recent, related occupational experience outside of education. Must be at least 21 years old. Valid driver’s license held continuously for the past 5 years. Must pass or provide a current criminal history and driving record check.

Preferred Skills Strong knowledge of and experience with heavy equipment operation and maintenance. Proven instructional or facilitation experience in competency-based learning environments. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
