The HEADstrong Foundation is seeking a full time Director of Development to join our team to advance our mission of improving lives affected by cancer.
The Director of Development is responsible for leading and executing HEADstrong Foundation’s development strategy to support its mission of improving the lives of cancer patients and their families. This role will focus on major gifts, corporate partnerships, donor stewardship, and fundraising events. The Director of Development will work closely with the Executive Director, board members, and key stakeholders to drive revenue growth and expand the foundation’s donor base. This position is based in Delaware County.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Growth
Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support organizational goals.
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations.
Donor Cultivation & Stewardship
Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
Develop donor recognition and engagement programs to enhance retention and loyalty.
Collaborate with marketing on donor communication efforts, including impact reports, newsletters, and updates.
Corporate & Community Partnerships
Identify and secure corporate sponsorships for events and programs.
Develop cause-marketing initiatives and workplace giving campaigns with business partners.
Engage community groups and associations to increase awareness and support.

Research and apply for grant opportunities aligned with HEADstrong’s mission.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, marketing, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
5+ years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development.
Proven track record of securing major gifts and corporate sponsorships.
Strong relationship-building, communication, and public speaking skills.
Experience with donor management software
Knowledge of grant writing.
Ability to lead teams and collaborate with volunteers and board members.
