Furniture Technician Overview
The Furniture Technician will be responsible for specific duties as they relate to repairing, restoring, and assembling furniture. The technician assesses damage, determines appropriate repairs, and may perform tasks like replacing parts, refinishing surfaces, and installing new pieces. The technician may also maintain records of repairs and inventory.
This individual will be an essential part to the cornerstone of UST’s growth and success that is built upon the expectation that EVERY team member will Execute Excellence Every time - simply known internally as E3.
Pay Rate : $28/hr
Responsibilities
(Include, but are not limited to)
· Continuously meets UST and client safety standards for all duties assigned, including the use of all heavy equipment, and motorized or non-motorized equipment
· Repairs, restores, and assembles furniture
· Replaces parts and refinishes surfaces as needed
· Maintains a clean and safe working environment
· Maintains a positive working relationship with all team members
· Safely and accurately performs responsibilities within the facility including receiving, processing, repairing, and moving product within the distribution center
· Uses equipment necessary to receive, process, and select product for assessment, assembly, and repair
Requirements
· Ability to lift and carry heavy and/or bulky merchandise
· Proficiency in using hand and power tools, knowledge of woodworking, upholstery techniques, and furniture repair methods
· Ability to identify and resolve issues with furniture, including determining the best repair approach
· High School Diploma or equivalent education
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
· Must be able to work a schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays
· Possess effective written and verbal communication
· Valid Driver’s License
