We are looking for a
Senior Manager of Design
with experience in lingerie design, a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of garment construction, and a passion for creating bras that not only fit perfectly but also make our customers feel empowered.
The ideal candidate will have combined extensive experience in lingerie creative design as well as technical design including construction, fit, and grade during all stages of bra development. This person will also have experience managing a team of creative and technical design professionals and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to bring innovative and marketable bra designs to life.
Key Responsibilities
Design
Design and develop new bra collections, ensuring they align with our brand aesthetic and customer preferences.
Conduct thorough trend research and analysis to identify emerging styles, colors, and fabrics relevant to our target demographic.
Collaborate with the product development team to select high-quality materials that meet our standards for comfort, durability, and sustainability.
Create detailed technical sketches, spec sheets, and tech packs for each bra design, ensuring accurate fit and construction.
Conduct fit sessions and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal fit and comfort.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, marketing, and production, to ensure cohesive brand messaging and timely product delivery.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor offerings to inform future design decisions.
Technical
Responsible for reviewing and analyzing each style for accuracy of construction, fit, and cost at different stages of development
Review all developments before finalizing BOMs to the factory
Review all grade developments with designers before they finalize fit
After design as approved base size pads and patterns, review approved pads and work on grade for completion of pad and pattern development
Responsible for reviewing, correcting, and finalizing grade for styles
Review measurement sheets against the final garment and patterns
Responsible for ensuring pads, plastic shots, pad spec, measurement sheets, and copies of patterns are accurate at the end stages, send final approvals to the factories and other business partners
Attend fittings involving finalization of garments as needed
Responsible for ensuring all final information is properly archived and secure (digital and physical archiving)
Efficient and clear communication with overseas partners
Qualifications:
Must have 10+ years of experience in lingerie design, technical design, and grading specifically with a focus on bras and panties.
10+ year managing creative and technical design teams, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Strong portfolio showcasing a range of bra designs from concept to production.
Technical background and strong knowledge in sample making.
Excellent understanding of bra construction, fit, sizing and fabrication
Knowledge of industry trends, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, priorities and tight deadlines simultaneously while maintaining quality, with strong attention to detail
Keen written verbal and electronic communication skills (English)
Must possess excellent people skills
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop.
Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Hands on experience with computer grading Lectra Modaris
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
