About the Position

This position is responsible for working with the Director of Carrier Development & Parcel Solutions on all aspects of carrier development and related procurement activities for Kenco Transportation Management LLC. This position also drives resolution of operational, IT, or other issues on all aspects of related parcel and procurement activities. The Carrier Development & Parcel Solutions team owns the strategic relationships with the carrier base used in the business.

Functions

Sourcing and Analytics Oversight

Supports the Director of Carrier Development & Parcel Solutions to establish SOP's and /or best practices related to carrier sourcing, vetting, onboarding, rate negotiations and performance management. Leads the strategic direction of one or multiple modes of transportation. Ensures the business has the capacity solutions to meet current and future needs. Leads negotiation efforts in designated modes to establish competitive agreements with carriers. Monitors carrier performance regarding the following KPI's: established customer requirements, safety expectations, and compliance with state and federal DOT regulations. Effectively uses IT platforms that supports the business, including MercuryGate, QLIK/Unify, Enveyo, Jaggaer, and others as needed. Supports the implementation of new business through procurement and other carrier on-boarding efforts. Uses data, analysis, Lean Six Sigma tools, and transportation metrics to drive continuous improvement and reduce costs. Supports projects that include analyzing all or part of a current/potential client's needs. Provides daily, weekly, and monthly reporting on business, as needed. Talent Management & Leadership

Builds, develops, coaches and manages a team of direct reports. Evaluates employee performance and leads the team to achieve goals through teamwork and performance management tools. Leads Employee Engagement activities. Conducts presentations in departmental meetings regarding industry/market events, expectations, performance metrics and strategic direction. Communicates operations issues to management and recommend changes. Customer/Vender Management

Fosters and/or enhances relationships with customers, carriers and other related vendors. Supports and participates in customer QBR's as requested. Support the development of new business relative to pricing, rate analysis, creative solutions design, SME support to clients, and other methods as needed. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Transportation Management field or related equivalent years of experience required. Equivalent years of experience is defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested. 5-10 years of experience in Parcel Management. Detailed knowledge of Carrier management, procurement and sourcing. Ability to motivate, train, lead, and evaluate the performance of direct reports. Highly proficient in the use of MS Office - Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Word. Experience with data visualization tools. Ability to professionally prepare and present information to both internal and external audiences Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and meet specific goals and deadlines. Strong leadership skills to help guide and motivate teams. Ability to communicate with tact, diplomacy, and authority, when necessary. Must possess strong analytical abilities, organizational skills, and communication skills. Competencies

Salary Target: $115,000.00 - 120,000.00 plus 20% Yearly Bonus Potential
