Job Summary

Responsible for performing detailed inspections on machined components and assemblies from outside suppliers, ensuring compliance with aerospace and industrial standards. The inspector will perform First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102, interpret complex engineering drawings, and utilize precision measurement tools to verify dimensional and visual conformance.

Responsibilities and Duties Inspect machined parts and mechanical assemblies received from external suppliers, ensuring conformance to drawings, specifications, and purchase order requirements. Conduct and document First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 standards. Review supplier documentation such as certifications, test reports, and inspection records to verify traceability and compliance. Perform receiving inspections and in-process verifications on high-precision aerospace and industrial components. Use a wide range of precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, pin gauges, bore gauges, and surface plates. Operate or review results from CMM inspections (Coordinate Measuring Machines) and interpret CMM reports. Accurately interpret engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) per ASME Y14.5. Identify nonconformities and generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs); support the MRB process with inspections Maintain thorough and organized inspection documentation for audits and traceability. Collaborate with internal teams (purchasing, engineering, production, customer service etc.) Ensure all measurement and inspection equipment used is within calibration and report any discrepancies. Inspect work in Class 10k cleanroom if required and other buildings. Adhere to company's rules, goals and metrics. Technical Knowledge/Skills:

High school diploma, associate degree or technical certification in mechanical inspection or manufacturing preferred. Minimum 3+ years of quality inspection experience, specifically with machined parts Demonstrated experience with First Article Inspections (AS9102). Strong working knowledge of GD&T and mechanical blueprint reading. Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 Proficient with precision measurement tools and inspection techniques. Basic computer skills: experience with QMS and ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) Personal Attributes:
